[ you know he can't help but feel like this is going to be the most unsatisfying celebration ever, but whatever, he promised hotpot when hinata's eyes turned back to green and he's gonna deliver!!

so he's catching him after they're done with work, as promised. hi friend. ...hinata's gonna hug him to help him practice hugging isn't he, tsukasa's already got his arms open for it— he feels silly but this is better than being taken by surprise and he can just casually pass it off as something else if he needs to! ]

[ ...he's given hinata a lot this month already, from a party to genuine thanks, but this is different, okay. it's a day for it!! and it's making up for valentine's day.

so ♪ he'll find he has a package waiting for him at home! it's a medium-sized box with a lot of bite-sized shortbread cookies in it; they're shaped like cat faces, hearts, and sunflowers. there's also a card that's decorated with watercolor geraniums, and in that cardddd... is some small and surprisingly cute-shaped japanese handwriting: ]

Dear Hinata,

March 14th is White Day, a time to repay kindness, so I've made you some cookies for that (and as a late Valentine's gift)! I hope you like them. Even if we don't really celebrate the first here... Anyway, I know I always tell you how happy you make me, and I'm sure you know how grateful I am that we're friends, but I don't think it's bad to hear it again. Or read it, in this case. I guess texting counts as reading too though?

So thank you, even if this isn't the kind of thing that needs to be thanked. And even if it's embarrassing, thank youfor always saying you love me. It's weirdly confidence-boosting, even if you're the type that seems to like anyone who's nice to you? It's not a bad thing, though. I find it kind of inspiring that you can do that, and that you're so brilliant no matter what... but know that if anything should ever get you down, I'll fight it! Well, I'll be there to hear you out, at least.

I'm really, truly happy you decided we were friends, Hinata. I hope to cherish you and the smile you so wonderfully wear every day for a long time to come.
